The Open-Source Toolkit

Extract your site. Keep your rankings. Own the result.

wpEXIT is an open-source pipeline that pulls a WordPress site into clean, portable, CMS-independent content you own — with SEO and internal links preserved, and an optional Sanity editing head. The core is free. It's being built in public.

The pipeline

Four stages, one honest migration

01

Extract

The WP REST API for everything that's structured — posts, pages, taxonomies, media. A headless Puppeteer pass for everything that isn't: the Elementor and Divi layouts the API can't see. Nothing gets left in the database.

02

Map

Deterministic mapping into a clean content model. No hand-editing, no one-off scripts you can't re-run. Point it at the same site twice and you get the same output twice — migrations you can trust and repeat.

03

Preserve

Redirects, canonical URLs, internal links, titles, metadata and structured data carried across by default. The whole point is that search engines barely notice you moved.

04

Verify

An audit stage, not a vibe check. It compares the new site against the old for visual parity and schema accuracy, page by page, so you can prove fidelity before you cut over — and show your work.

The core toolkit

Free & open source

Extraction, deterministic mapping, SEO and internal-link preservation, and the Verify stage. The full path from a standard WordPress site to content you own — run it yourself, read every line.

Page-builder extraction

Premium · coming

The hard part: faithfully decoding Elementor and Divi layouts into clean structured content. This is the premium tier, and it's still being built. Honest status — not available yet.

Ownership first. Sanity optional.

wpEXIT lands your site as clean, portable content — prose plus structured data — that works as a static site on its own. No CMS required, nothing to hold your content hostage.

Want a friendly editing experience on top? Pipe the same content into Sanity as an optional editing head. It's a destination you can choose, not a dependency you're stuck with — the content stays yours either way.

Building wpEXIT's own site on Astro + Cloudflare is deliberate: it's the same stack we migrate people to.

Status: building in public. The toolkit isn't released yet — we're sharing the work as it comes together. Join the waitlist for early access and you'll be first through the door.
